Introduction

1. youth identity in the light of modern media and communications in the technology advanced society;

2. youth identity modification during the recent political and economical transformation processes in South - Eastern Europe and in the context of European integration.

Aim

1. The project will exchange expereince how to use modern media and communication to facilitate the identity expressio and sself-labeling in the space of modern media;

2. the project will give young people from the South-Eastern Europe the opportunity to explore the problem with identity that have been cause form political, economical and cultural trnasformation in this region;

3. the project activities will try to explore the relations between the emigration in South-Eastern Europe and immigration processes in Western Europe; the attention of the participants will be focused on problems related with identity finding and "escape of identity";

4. the project will train young people from minorities organisations (or organisations working with minorities) how to use modern media for identity presentation;

5. the project will also give the participants a change to share positive experience in light of new media and technologies to encourage young people participation in the integration processes in Europe and will explore the identity transformation during that processes.

Target group and participants

2. Young people from ethnic, religious and social minorities who would like to use new media and communications for preserving their identity;

3. Members and youth leaders form youth organisations in Balkan region, willing to co-operate with youngsters from Central and Western Europe.

Methods, forms of work and main events in the project

The main training and information exchange methods will be: Lectures, discussions, workshops, interactive exhibition , confrontation games, simulations. Some of them:

Identity defining and self-awareness - lecture and discussion about the different aspects of identity and self-awareness finding;

Freedom of self-expression - on-line discussion about possible ways for sharing expereince using new media and information technologies for "free speech" of presonal opinion;

Virtual identity - on-line simulation game - using the tools of on-line communications in Intenet - SCAS chat-room;

Unisex - discussion about the influence of nowadays technologies of the basics human nature - the sex;

(In)Visible faces - exhibition of personal unconventional web sites, showing the different ways of expressing our own personality;

Youth emigration/immigration - escape of identity or forced mobility - work in small groups - sharing ideas and experience about the problem with the transformation of identity during the emigration/immigration processes;

European faces - prejudices and stereotypes - interactive theatre, which aim to simulate a situation, where the participants could overcome the the negative images and distorted visions about the different European countries;

Social programme - number of events, aming to present Balkan culture.
