happened with the MAN “...In the graphic version of the work, the surface is transformed in a screen where we can save and fix separate moments - events, placed out of time. The man becomes witness of events that happen with him and are out of him simultaneously. Given a distance, he begins to play the role of spectator out of the time-space continuum. The imprint gives us the opportunity to transform an artwork - created in the time and constantly changing, i.e. computer image - into a fixed product, loaded with information. The main idea we’ve used in creating these graphics, was the act of downloading a photo of totally unknown man from Internet and processing it by the use of computer. By the means of computer graphics visual violence was applied towards this photography which becomes bearer of the image - not the image of particular human being, nor of one’s personality - but of the man in general. The violence of information has been minimized to violence towards specified, randomly selected photo. In each file you can see the image of human, amputed from his identity, wandering through the information field.” Vanya Valkova was born in 1970 in Sofia.
