Which sound information are we unconciously percepting? * sound sign: the meaning of sounds will be compared with semiotic theories. * sound design in advertising: various TV-spots will be shown, the structure of spots (AIDA-model) will be demonstrated. The shaping of these spots (tell a story, slice of life, testimonial, etc.) will be analysed. The role of sound in these spots will be discussed (voices, specific music selections, jingles). * sound design for consumer products: different purpose of sound in products will be depicted (signal, identity, atmosphere, etc.). As an example the Sound Design of diverse alarm clocks will be presented. * media technology: our listening habits are shaped by media technology (Hi-fi, digital revolution). Gabriele
